The BBQ planned for 29 June is now a ‘Picnic on the Beach’. This is because Sefton Council have placed a ban on BBQs for environmental reasons. The picnic will start from 12.30pm on Ainsdale Beach as before. Please come along and meet up with friends; bring a ball for a kick-about!

The Birkdale Reunion Committee wishes to announce the ticket price for this year’s reunion will be £5 per person.
Due to a successful grant application to Birkdale Trust for Hearing Impaired Ltd (BTHI Ltd), we are able to offer this price, which would normally have been a lot higher. Tickets can be ordered now, but please be aware it is on a first come, first served basis. Entry to this event is by ticket only, and the limit is 120, so to avoid disappointment, get your order in quickly.
As well as subsidising the Reunion, the Trust has also paid for a portable loop system. We would like to thank BTHI Ltd for their grant towards cutting down costs of our reunion this year and for the purchase of the loop system.

Wedding news: congratulations to Clare Sparks who will be getting married in September 2014.
BBQ news: those who went to Ainsdale beach today were faced with very strong winds. So strong that it wasn’t possible to put up gazebos properly. A few tried, including Mike Fahey who said he struggled and gave up in the end! A ‘Plan B’ was called for; Sue Tinsley offered to let everyone meet at her house to continue the BBQ Reunion. A very big thanks go to Sue for saving the day. Stephen Granger has already commented on the day in the Guestbook.

The 2013 Birkdale Reunion BBQ will take place on Sunday 23 June at 1pm on Ainsdale Beach, Shore Road entrance (by Pontins). This event is also open to Mary Hare former pupils, family and friends.
If you’re interested in attending, please bring own BBQ (disposable), food and drink, a gazebo (if you have one) and any beach games. Pets are welcome too. The event is still held even if it rains due to gazebos and wind shelters, but it is hoped it’ll be dry and sunny!
There is car parking for a fee (around £5) and toilets are available.
